KUNINGANSATU.COM,- Situs Buyut Salam yang terletak di Desa Sangkanerang, Kecamatan Jalaksana, Kabupaten Kuningan, menyimpan jejak sejarah penting penyebaran agama Islam di wilayah tersebut.
Situs seluas 6.300 meter persegi ini diperkirakan merupakan peninggalan zaman prasejarah berusia sekitar 3.000 tahun Sebelum Masehi. Berdasarkan informasi yang dihimpun, tempat ini diyakini menjadi lokasi rapat Mbah Kuwu Cakrabuana dalam menyebarkan ajaran Islam di kawasan Kuningan pada masa awal perkembangan Islam di Tanah Sunda.
Juru pelihara situs menuturkan, Mbah Kuwu Cakrabuana pernah meninggalkan penutup kepalanya atau songko di lokasi tersebut saat kembali ke Cirebon. Ia kemudian kembali ke Buyut Salam untuk mengambilnya, dan peristiwa itu membuat masyarakat setempat mengenalnya juga dengan sebutan Mbah Kuwu Songko.
Selain nilai sejarah penyebaran Islam, di kawasan ini juga ditemukan sejumlah peninggalan arkeologis seperti menhir, dolmen, dan batu dakon yang memperkuat nilai budaya dan kepercayaan masyarakat pada masa lampau.
Situs Buyut Salam kini menjadi salah satu titik penting bagi wisata sejarah dan religi di Kabupaten Kuningan. ***
